なぜコーヒー屋をやっているんですか

15歳の時(高校１年)に、中学の同級生が

「バイトするなら喫茶店が一番楽だぞ。
ホット・ワンって言っていればいいんだから」

その一言が今のコーヒー屋になった理由です。

その後、19歳でコーヒーの原価を聞き、８割が利益と聞かされ
コーヒー関係の仕事をしなければならないと決意しました。

その後大手ファミレスでサラリーマンをするのですが、
最後は朝の９時～朝の５時まで１週間勤務シフトが続き、
グロッキー。

そんな時に実家に帰ったら、陶器販売店が出来ていました。
「実家を次ぐ」という事でファミレスを辞めましたが、
コーヒーカップや洋皿・和皿・贈答品を売る事は、

自分の好きで始めた仕事ではなく、「やらされてた感」が
ありました。

売れない時期もあり、バイトもした事もありました。
ある時は、商品の在庫の山なのに「売れるものあるの?」
と言われ完全に商売の戦意喪失してしまいました。

2002年の４月は、人生のどん底にいましたね。

そんな時ですね、「楽市」という販売代行フリーマーケットを
会社で行なっていたんです。そのフリマ商品の中に開運グッズ
があったので買いました。カエルの置物です


今でも忘れはしません。
そのカエルの開運グッズを店に飾った日の２人目のお客さんが
「喫茶店を開くので、カップ・その他の備品を一式売って欲しい」
と、健康喫茶を開業したいお客さんが来たのです。

その方の名刺を見た時、衝撃が走りました。

有機栽培コーヒー生豆
全自動焙煎器付コーヒーメーカー


「コーヒー豆って、自分で焼けるんだ」
「豆を入れたらコーヒーになって出てくる機械まであるんだ」
「これだ、自分がコーヒーの仕事をしなければならない理由が
　ここにあるんだ」

と、凄いドラマがありました。

これがコーヒー屋をやっているエピソードの第一幕です。
